FASCIAL MOVEMENT TAPING day 1 (FMT1)
This 1 day workshop is a perfect introduction to our taping theory and methods. Based on previous feedback we know it is suitable for both novice and experienced tapers. The course is aimed at Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Sports and Massage Therapists, and Personal Trainers. If your profession has not been mentioned please contact us to discuss the course suitability. FMT1 aims to teach you lots of taping techniques and the concepts on which they are based. This will equip you with the skills and understanding to effectively apply ROCKTAPE to virtually any problem within the musculoskeletal system.
FMT1 – THEORY
- How tape works
- Summary of research evidence
- Myofascial Anatomy update, including an introduction to anatomy trains.
How to cut, handle and stick tape.
Postural and movement analysis techniques.
Regional Optimisation Taping: To reduce pain and improve function.
Postural Control Taping: To correct/improve postural dysfunctions in the trunk and limbs.
Oedema Control Taping: To enhance natural drainage of both acute and chronic swelling.
POWERTAPING: Reduce pain and enhance performance by optimizing myofascial slings and anatomy trains.

Is this course suitable for me?
The course is suitable for all manual and movement Therapists. This includes Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Massage Therapists, Sports Therapists, Podiatrists, Personal trainers, Strength and Conditioning Coaches and Pilates Instructors. You only require a reasonable background knowledge of anatomy and to be working in an environment where you are performing treatment, rehabilitation or performance improvement work with your clients.
I have never taped before will I be too inexperienced?
No. On the day we go through the basics of taping, both practical and theoretical elements. ROCKTAPE also has an extensive collection of videos on youtube to help you familiarise yourself with some techniques. One of our lecturers has also produced a Kinesiology Taping DVD which is a great resource to learn from before and after attending a course. www.kinesiologytapingdvd.com
I have already attended a course by another provider. What can I learn from your teaching?
FMT1 contians lots of great tips and tapings that are unique the ROCKTAPE education program. Even experienced taper’s say that they have picked up new ideas. If you feel comfortable with the basics of taping and are looking for the next step then join us on the FMT2 programme. In FMT2 We’ll review some taping theory and practical elements and then move onto some applications we are sure will be new to you – this includes our widely acclaimed Powertaping Method.
