About me


I am a person with many passions, two that really intertwine beautifully – Running and Travelling. I have been doing just that since 2004. Exploring and discovering the world and myself through the highs and lows of the mountains and life. After racing, travelling and running constantly and mostly successfully around the world in all sorts of distance and terrain, I finally hit rock bottom. But I came back with new life. That running really is just running. It is what I do, not who I am. I am me, more than just a runner!

  2. Hi Anna have been reading of your achievements with long distance running and want to send you my congratulations. Keep up the good work and next time in Wanaka look up your old F2 teacher at DNI.

    • You start simple and easy, then you grow into it as your passion also grows. Find a trail running group/community and absorb yourself in it! They will become your other family with all the tips and motivation you need. Good Luck!

  3. Dear Anna, I have singed up to run Marathon du Mont-Blanc in June 2016. Do you mind sharing your experience running it and training tips? I am an amateur runner, and I have no experience running at high altitudes or in the mountains. I have run two marathons so far, both in DC. Thank you very much!

  4. I wanted to let you know that your children’s book is wonderful for little girls. I have a 5 year old daughter and I asked her what sports she wanted to try and she said “running is my sport just like Frosty”. She will be in her third year of track camp. She isn’t fast, but her coach says she has the most heart. Thank you for the book!

  5. Dear Anna, I am a 45 year old recovering alcoholic. Sober for a little over 3 years. I have spent a lifetime of drinking and smoking and just treating my body bad. I quit smoking July 5th 2015. I weigh 274 lbs. I just started walking and eating healthy and it’s a battle. I want to say to you that you are an inspiration to me. I started reading and studying up on trail running and ultra running. Amazing what you can do. Your right there with Anton and Scott Jurek as my inspiration. I love reading your post on facebook and just seen this site. Well have a great day and thanks for posting on facebook. Your an inspiration to many and a special and amazing human being.
